Mississippi Receives H.A.N.D.S. Grant
The Mississippi School Nurse Association, in cooperation with the Mississippi Department of Education, has been awarded a grant to offer H.A.N.D.S. – Helping Administer to the Needs of the student with Diabetes in School – a National Association of School Nurses’ training program designed to equip school nurses with current diabetes knowledge and provide tools and resources to facilitate effective diabetes management for students at school. Through the grant, training will be provided free of charge to interested school nurses. H.A.N.D.S. will be offered Thursday, July 31st (the day before the mandatory August 1 meeting) in the MDE Auditorium. The session will run from 8:30am – 4:30pm, and attendees will earn 6.50 Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours.
