New School Site Memorandum

SUBJECT:       New School Sites

Enclosed please find the Evaluation of Proposed New School Site form for your completion and transmittal to the Office of Safe and Orderly Schools, Division of School Building.

In general, your completion of this form will suffice for submission to the Mississippi Board of Education for their approval.  However, the State Board may require this office to make on-site observations as deemed necessary.

In a cover letter with the enclosed form, please provide us with the following:

• Justification of the need for the site.
• Physical location of the site.
• Number of acres:  This is the required number of acres for the location of the construction of capital improvements.
• Grades to be housed or served along with student enrollment count.
• If applicable, describe the financing of the site purchase.
