Step Into Health Program

The MDE promotes the recommendation of the U.S. Surgeon General that adults get 30 minutes or more of exercise at least five days each week.

Increasing physical activity each day can lower the health risk from chronic conditions including obesity, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and even some cancers.

A daily "step" goal of 10,000 steps will mean that you have walked about five miles. A pedometer can help you count your steps each day.
