2007 Team Nutrition Grants
The Office of Healthy Schools, Child Nutrition Programs awarded twenty Mississippi schools Team Nutrition Grants to achieve the goal of promoting student and staff wellness by involving parents, students, school board, school administrators and the community in the development of nutrition and physical wellness policies. The grant will focus on the following strategies: establish and maintain school health councils; conduct a pre- and post-assessment to determine baseline data and impact of project implementation; develop nutrition and physical activity policies to promote student and staff wellness; take the HealthierUS School Challenge, and conduct nutrition and physical activities that reinforce the Team Nutrition (TN) messages.
