Assessment

It is important to regularly conduct an assessment of a staff wellness program because it can identify the benefits or weaknesses of a program and assist with identifying new interventions.

One resource for measuring staff wellness programs is the School Health Index.  It is a self-assessment tool used for identifying strengths and weaknesses and for planning improvements.  It should not be used for evaluating staff.

School Health Index for Physical Activity and Healthy Eating: A Self Assessment and Planning Guide available at http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dash/SHI.
